Kushinagar – A Muslim man in Uttar Pradesh was brutally assaulted in Kubra Buwal Patti village, Kushinagar district, after a dispute over parking. The victim, identified as Izharuddin, was tied with a rope and beaten by a mob, according to local reports.
The violence began when a villager named Ritesh asked Izharuddin to move his pickup truck from the road. The argument quickly escalated. Witnesses said Ritesh mistreated Izharuddin before calling his relatives and friends, who attacked the man with extreme force.
Eyewitnesses reported that despite pleas from Ritesh’s mother for the attackers to stop, the mob continued to beat Izharuddin. A video of the assault circulated widely on social media, sparking anger and fear among residents of the district.
Police from Vishnupura confirmed that an investigation is underway and said those responsible are being pursued. Community members have demanded swift action against the perpetrators and expressed concern about rising incidents of mob violence in the state.
Izharuddin’s family remains shaken by the attack. Muslim groups, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, extended support to the family and urged authorities to ensure justice. They stressed that equal application of the law is essential to protect vulnerable communities.
The case has renewed debate on mob violence in India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, where several incidents targeting minorities have been reported in recent years. Rights advocates called on law enforcement to act decisively to restore public trust.
