New Delhi: In a strong show of resistance, all major Muslim organizations, under the leadership of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), raised their voices against the Waqf Amendment Bill at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The board announced its commitment to taking this opposition to every street and corner of the country. Meanwhile, leaders of BJP’s allied parties, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, are being urged to oppose the bill in Parliament.
Maulana Mehdi Hasan Aini Qasmi, Director of the India Islamic Academy, Deoband, has called on Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu to take a firm stand against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024. He urged them to direct their respective parties, Janata Dal (United) and the Telugu Desam Party, to vote against the bill in Parliament. Maulana Aini also issued a stern warning, stating that failure to do so would have consequences. He emphasized that not only Muslims but also justice-loving citizens across India are strongly opposing this move.
