New Delhi, April 19: The All India Muslim Personnel Law Board (AIMPLB) on Friday issued an official statement to clarify its stance on political affiliations during the ensuing general elections. In the wake of some misleading reports about its political stance in media, the Board categorically stated that it is an apolitical body, terming its one member’s stance as his personal opinion.
Maulana Mohammed Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, AIMPLB General Secretary has reiterated the Board’s unwavering commitment to neutrality in parliamentary politics, as enshrined in its constitution. The AIMPLB maintains a stance of neither endorsing nor opposing any specific political party.
Recent statements by certain individuals associated with the Board, including Vice President Dr. Syed Ali Muhammad Naqvi, supporting BJP, may be his personal opinion, but it does not reflect the official position of AIMPLB.
Additionally, AIMPLB unequivocally distances itself from any statements made by individuals like Khalid Anwar, MLC, in support of NDA. The Board asserts its non-involvement in such matters and urges the public to refrain from attributing individual statements to the collective position of the AIMPLB.
As the nation approaches an election period, the AIMPLB calls upon all political entities to respect its neutrality and refrain from linking individual statements to the Board’s overarching stance. The AIMPLB remains dedicated to upholding its constitution and serving the interests of the Muslim community in India.
