862 Muslim Students Secure MBBS Admissions, Honoured at Medico Awards

Hyderabad: A total of 862 Muslim students have secured free Category-A MBBS seats across 62 medical colleges in Telangana this year. To celebrate this milestone, Siasat Daily and MS Education Academy jointly organised the annual Medico Awards ceremony at the Siasat auditorium on Sunday.

In the morning session, more than 200 male students were honoured, followed by an afternoon gathering attended by over 400 female students from various districts. The event recognised the growing presence of Muslim students in the medical field and highlighted the importance of service, compassion, and lifelong learning in the profession.

Mazhar Hussain, Managing Director of MS Education Academy, urged students to approach medicine with a spirit of service and humanity. He credited the NEET 2025 cut-off score of 395 for widening access to medical education. “Our goal is to ensure that financial limitations never stop deserving students from becoming doctors,” he said.

Ghouseuddin, Director of MS Education Academy, Malakpet, reminded students that emotional intelligence and kindness remain essential in an age dominated by artificial intelligence. Sadiq Ali, Director of MS Academy, Mehdipatnam, observed that experience only enhances a doctor’s value over time.

Career Counsellor and Convenor M.A. Hameed described the growing number of Muslim MBBS aspirants as an encouraging trend. The programme opened with Qur’an recitation and concluded with a vote of thanks by Moinuddin.
