Muslims Must Keep Their Beliefs Free from Distortion, Impurity: Maulana Arshad Madani

Yamunanagar: At the “Tahafuzze Islami Aqaid” (Protection of Islamic Beliefs) conference held in Bibipur village, Yamunanagar, Haryana, eminent scholars including Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Chief, Maulana Arshad Madani underscored the crucial need to protect the purity of Islamic beliefs. The gathering featured leading voices such as Maulana Mufti Muhammad Rashid Azmi, Deputy Head of Darul Uloom Deoband; Mufti Ashraf Abbas Qasmi, Professor at Darul Uloom Deoband; and many others, who warned against the dangers of belief distortion and emphasised the importance of upholding Islamic teachings.

Mufti Muhammad Ashraf Abbas Qasmi said a weakened belief system erodes the foundation of worship itself, addressing challenges posed by modern misguidance. Maulana Muhammad Aqil Qasmi, Sheikh-ul-Hadith at Badr-ul-Uloom, praised Darul Uloom Deoband’s proactive stance in countering these challenges, describing it as a source of hope for Muslims. He urged mindful use of technology, which can either support or compromise Islamic values. Mufti Rashid Azmi affirmed that Darul Uloom scholars have a long-standing tradition of pre-emptively addressing issues, and he highlighted the essential role of correct beliefs as the basis for genuine worship.

In his keynote address, Maulana Arshad Madani reiterated that the teachings of Islam and the Prophets, as illuminated by the Quran and Hadith, convey clear, pure messages – citing the miraculous birth of Prophet Isa (Jesus) and the chaste character of his mother, Maryam. He urged Muslims to lead lives free from any contamination or compromise in belief.

The conference concluded with Maulana Madani’s prayer. Mufti Muhammad Javed Rana coordinated the event organised by Bibipur Social Reform Committee.
