Muslims, Non-Muslims Join Milad Celebrations in Coastal Karnataka

Mangaluru: Many non-Muslims joined the Milad celebrations and offered sweets to their Muslim brethren at different places in coastal Karnataka. Harmony and friendship bonds have beaten the skin-deep communalism and anti-Muslim propaganda and actions elsewhere in the country.

Places like B.C. Road, Mani, Boliyar, Anantadi, Kadu Math, Peraladabailu, etc. had common goodwill gestures. People participating in the Miladun Nabi processions were offered sweets and drinks by the fellow citizens. What was most appreciable the sweet was distributed through children and youngsters.

In the neighbouring Udupi district also similar goodwill gestures were witnessed. Nejar, Karkalabettu

and cool drinks were offered to the processionists. Even the recent communal disturbance at Nagmangla in Mandya district had no effect on the friendship spirit here.

Muslims celebrated the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as Miladun Nabi across the state

on Monday.
