Makkah: The Muslim World League has launched Minhaj, a new digital reference platform designed to provide reliable Islamic scholarship in multiple languages. The MWL unveiled the platform during a ceremony attended by Islamic scholars, senior officials and representatives of religious institutions.
MWL Secretary General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al Issa said Minhaj follows an international Shariah based framework that jurists and experts developed over several years. He said the platform aims to address contradiction and inconsistency found in some digital religious content. He added that the Islamic Fiqh Council granted formal approval to the platform on April 22, 2024.
Minhaj offers interactive digital tools, multilingual access and structured learning options. Senior scholars said this fills a gap in the digital space, where many users seek reliable guidance but lack access to authenticated material.
The launch drew participation from prominent figures. Attendees included Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Fawzan Al Fawzan, Council of Senior Scholars Secretary General Dr. Fahd bin Saad Al Majed and Grand Mosque Imam and Khateeb Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid. Leaders from Algeria and Indonesia also attended.
MWL officials said the platform aims to support students, researchers and institutions that rely on trustworthy Islamic references. They said Minhaj will expand over time to include more tools and languages.
