NCP’s Nawab Malik Leads BMC Election Preparations, Vows to Highlight Civic Issues

Mumbai: Senior NCP leader and former minister Nawab Malik has taken charge of the party’s campaign for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. Chairing the second meeting of the BMC Election Management Committee at the party’s Mumbai office, Malik laid out a roadmap for intensifying preparations and reaching out to citizens across the city.

Malik urged party cadres to publicize the NCP’s policies across all platforms, including social media, and to take the party’s message door-to-door. “This election is not just a political contest but a struggle to improve the lives of citizens,” he said, adding that corruption and mismanagement in the BMC over the years must be exposed and made a key election issue.

He emphasized that civic concerns such as inflation, unemployment, and lack of basic amenities should remain central to the campaign. “It is the responsibility of the party to bring these problems before the public,” Malik told the gathering.

The meeting was attended by Mumbai Working President Siddharth Kamle, MLA Shana Malik Shaikh, former MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui, former state president Bhaskar Vichare, General Secretary Raju Khoge, district presidents Mahendra Pansare and Suresh Bhairao, as well as leaders of the party’s women, student, cooperative, minority, and slum wings.

Malik directed all cells and units to engage directly with citizens in their areas, organize local-level interactions, and devise strategies suited to ground realities. He also stressed mobilizing organized workers and slum residents to strengthen the party’s grassroots base.

Party leaders present at the meeting echoed Malik’s call and urged workers to use social media effectively to expand the NCP’s reach among Mumbaikars.
