“Netanyahu Putting Ceasefire Deal in Jeopardy by Not Freeing Palestinian Prisoners”

New Delhi: As Israel delays the release of Palestinian prisoners, violating the ceasefire agreement, Hamas has warned that Netanyahu’s actions are endangering the deal.
Dr. Basem Naim, Member of the Political Bureau of Hamas in Gaza, stated, “By postponing the release of our Palestinian prisoners according to the phase one ceasefire agreement, the enemy government is acting rampantly and exposing the entire agreement to grave danger.”
He urged mediators, particularly the U.S., to pressure Netanyahu to honor the agreement and immediately release the prisoners.
Dr. Naim criticized Israel for discussing the humane treatment of Israeli captives while Palestinian prisoners endure torture, isolation, and threats against their families if they express joy over their release.
Reports indicate Netanyahu’s government is stalling with baseless excuses, trying to cover its failures while violating the agreement. Over 100 Palestinians have been killed since the deal was signed, and essential shelter supplies remain blocked.
He further warned that Israel’s refusal to engage in second-phase negotiations, which should have begun on the 16th day of the agreement, signals an intent to evade the deal and escalate war.
