New Delhi: Four men detained during the Delhi Red Fort blast investigation have been released after the National Investigation Agency found no link between them and the alleged mastermind, Dr Umar Un Nabi. Three of the released individuals are Muslim doctors from Haryana’s Nuh district. The fourth is a local fertiliser dealer.
Investigators questioned Dr Rehan, Dr Mohammad, Dr Mustaqeem and Dinesh Singla for three days. Officers reviewed their devices, travel history and communication records. They found no evidence that connected them to Dr Umar. Families confirmed the release of the four men.
A total of seven people from the Mewat region had been detained in recent days. Four are now out of custody. The investigation is still active. Several arrests have taken place across different states, including Jammu and Kashmir, as agencies focus on the movements of Dr Umar, a doctor from Pulwama who worked at Al Falah University in Faridabad.
The blast took place on 10 November. A Hyundai i20 exploded near the Red Fort. Thirteen people lost their lives and several others were injured. Security teams collected CCTV footage, phone records and material from the site. There are no official statements from the agencies on the progress of the probe.
Relatives of the released men said the detention caused fear across Nuh. Community members said the quick release shows the need for careful verification during high pressure investigations. Residents in the region are seeking clarity on the remaining detentions as the probe moves forward.
