Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed Bihar cabinet minister Nitin Nabin as its National Working President, marking an organisational transition at the national level. The BJP Parliamentary Board approved the decision and issued instructions for immediate implementation across party units.
The appointment comes after the term of BJP National President JP Nadda ended. Senior leaders have held internal discussions on future leadership. During this interim phase, the party leadership assigned Nitin Nabin the responsibility of National Working President to manage organisational coordination and daily operations.
A formal letter issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh confirmed the decision. The party communicated the appointment to the National President, state in charges, state presidents, and organisational general secretaries. The move signals continuity in leadership during a period of restructuring.
Nitin Nabin, aged 45, represents the Bankipur constituency in Patna. He won the seat in the recent Bihar Assembly elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Rekha Kumari. He has served as a legislator for five consecutive terms and built a reputation as a disciplined party organiser.
He comes from a political family. His father, Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha, holds senior standing within the BJP. Nabin entered public life through student politics and gradually moved into organisational roles before joining the state cabinet.
At present, he serves as Bihar’s Road Construction Minister. Party leaders point to his administrative record and focus on infrastructure delivery as reasons behind the new responsibility.
The BJP has also announced changes in Uttar Pradesh, where Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary has taken charge as state unit president. These decisions form part of a wider internal realignment ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
