Hyderabad: In an important event organized under the auspices of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), 1000 marriages were finalized within an hour, following the principles of Islamic Shariah. The mass wedding event, held in the city, witnessed the union of couples without dowry or conditions, based solely on mutual consent between the bride and the groom, with the approval of their respective families.
The program highlighted the importance of simple marriages in accordance with Shariah, aimed at discouraging the prevalent dowry system and complicated conditions. The gathering resonated with the spirit of simplicity, where marriages were finalized with mutual agreement, in the presence of elders, and with the blessings of both families.
Rukhsar, one of the participants, shared her gratitude, saying, “This initiative has saved us from the burden of dowry demands, allowing us to focus on the essence of marriage – mutual respect and understanding.”
The AIMPLB emphasized that this event was not just a regional occurrence but part of a broader effort to promote simple and fair marriages across India. Similar initiatives are planned in various metro cities to ensure more Muslim couples can benefit from these efforts, encouraging a return to Shariah-compliant practices in the marriage process.
This program, with its message of simplicity and fairness, stands as a model for the wider community, pushing back against the dowry culture and promoting marriages rooted in mutual respect and understanding.
