Online Series ‘Dramatic Reading of Ghalib’s Letters’ Concludes Successfully

New Delhi: The subsidiary branch of Ghalib Institute, Hum Sab Drama Group, concluded its online series Dramatic Reading of Ghalib’s Letters on January 15. The final episode aired at 9 PM on the official Facebook and YouTube pages of the Ghalib Institute, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Introducing the program, Dr. Idrees Ahmad, Director of the Ghalib Institute, highlighted the series’ significance. He remarked that a previous series titled A Meeting with an Artist had also been broadcast online, featuring insights and experiences from prominent personalities in the field of drama.

The subsequent series, Dramatic Reading, showcased renowned storyteller Ms. Fauzia Dastango, who presented Chacha Chhakan Ne Tasveer Taangi in her unique storytelling style. This was followed by the Mehfil-e-Qissa Khwani series, where notable figures such as Professor Asif Naqvi, Ms. Naheed Mohsini, Ms. Azra Naqvi, and Mr. Arif Naqvi narrated Qurratulain Hyder’s celebrated work, Aakhir Shab Ke Humsafar, in a dramatic format.

On September 1, 2024, the institute launched the latest series, Dramatic Reading of Ghalib’s Letters. This series featured readings by Professor Mohammad Kazim, Mr. Abbas Haider Naqvi, Mr. Mohammad Nasir, Ms. Saadia Rehman, and Dr. Javed Hasan. Episodes aired on the 1st and 15th of each month at 9 PM IST.

This effort to present Ghalib’s letters in a dramatic format received widespread appreciation from viewers, who praised its unique approach and offered valuable suggestions. The series stands as a successful initiative in bringing the timeless works of Ghalib closer to contemporary audiences.
