Outstanding Students Honoured in Gagriya Ceremony

Gagriya/Barmer: A special ceremony at Madarsa Medina-tul-Uloom here Wednesday honoured high-achieving students from the 2024 10th and 12th-grade board exams. The event, part of Western Rajasthan Education Movement launched by SIO Rajasthan, celebrated students who scored above 65%.

Salim Akhtar, State Secretary of SIO Rajasthan, shared that Dr. Raheem Khan, Chief Editor of Janmanas Rajasthan, was the chief guest. Former SIO Rajasthan State Secretary Mohammad Azam Khan presided over the event. Distinguished attendees included Maulana Habibullah Kasmi, Maulana Abdul Haq, and teachers Muqeem Khan, Shoaib Khan, Maulana Imam Khan, Maulana Arshad, and Maulana Amiruddin. The programme began with recitation of the Quran by student Asif Khan.

In his welcome address, Salim Akhtar provided an overview of SIO Rajasthan’s activities, particularly the objectives of Western Rajasthan Education Movement. He highlighted that this initiative aims to address gaps in higher education in Western Rajasthan by promoting educational awareness, increasing literacy rates, and encouraging students to pursue further education. The movement also focuses on fostering moral values alongside academic achievements, boosting school enrolment, reducing dropout rates, and guiding students toward fulfilling educational paths.

Dr. Raheem Khan congratulated the students for their hard work and achievements, noting how their success demonstrates their capabilities and potential to realise their dreams. He encouraged them to explore various fields and remain committed to their goals.

In his remarks, Azam Khan emphasised the role of students in building society, stressing the importance of ethics in student life and the need to be good individuals as well as good scholars. He encouraged students to fulfill their responsibilities toward their parents.

Teachers Muqeem Khan, Maulana Amiruddin, and Maulana Abdul Haq also spoke, offering their encouragement and advice to the students.

Sixty talented students were felicitated with shields and certificates, with top three students in the 10th and 12th grades receiving gold, silver, and bronze medals. The event was attended by many regional dignitaries, who praised and motivated the honoured students.
