Over 3,600 People Embrace Islam in Dubai in First Half of 2025

Dubai: The Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture, operating under the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), has reported that more than 3,600 individuals embraced Islam in Dubai between January and June 2025. The milestone reflects the Centre’s expanding role in promoting Islamic culture, religious awareness, and intercultural dialogue, reported the Times of India.
In addition to the conversions, over 1,300 students enrolled in the Centre’s structured educational programmes on Islamic principles and practices. The institution also held 47 awareness and knowledge courses, benefiting more than 1,400 participants, and introduced interactive learning through its “Sustainable Knowledge Room” — a 360-degree virtual environment designed to make Islamic education more engaging. This initiative reached over 190 beneficiaries in the first half of the year.
Jassim Al Khazraji, Director of the Centre, stated that their mission is to “build bridges of cultural and religious communication and present a bright image of Islam based on tolerance, knowledge, and dialogue.”
Founded in 1969, IACAD oversees Islamic and charitable activities in Dubai, including fatwa services, Quran distribution, Hajj and Umrah coordination, mosque management, and Islamic education licensing. Under Law No. (2) of 2011, it was restructured to strengthen its policy-making, supervision, and educational roles.
The Centre’s ongoing initiatives aim to meet the needs of new Muslims and those interested in Islamic culture, ensuring religious knowledge is accessible, authentic, and impactful.
