Owaisi Offers to Join INDIA Bloc in Bihar if AIMIM Gets Six Seats

Kishanganj – AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has declared that his party is willing to join the INDIA alliance in Bihar if it is allowed to contest six seats in the upcoming assembly elections. Speaking in Kishanganj during the launch of his three-day Seemanchal Nyay Yatra, Owaisi dismissed allegations that his party helps the BJP by splitting votes.

Owaisi said the Bihar unit of AIMIM has already written multiple letters to Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, requesting an allocation of six seats. “The ball is now in the court of the INDIA bloc. We made this move to avoid accusations of helping the BJP. If they do not respond, people will see who is really helping the saffron party,” Owaisi stated.

In the 2020 assembly polls, AIMIM contested 20 seats and won five, mostly in the Seemanchal region with a large Muslim population. However, four of its MLAs later switched to the RJD, leaving only Akhtarul Iman with the party. Owaisi rejected Tejashwi Yadav’s reported remark about AIMIM contesting in Hyderabad, saying the RJD is free to test its strength in Telangana if it wishes.

On another issue, Owaisi criticized recent FIRs filed against Muslim youths in Uttar Pradesh for posters saying “I love Mohammad.” He called the cases “wrong and unconstitutional,” stressing that Article 25 guarantees freedom of religion and that Muslims have always expressed love for the Prophet.
