Kishanganj: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi attacked RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during a visit to Seemanchal, accusing him of ignoring the region’s poverty and unemployment. Speaking at a public rally, Owaisi said the youth of Seemanchal are forced to migrate in search of work while the state leadership remains disconnected from ground realities.
“We went to a remote village in Seemanchal. After offering namaaz, only the elders were present because the youth had already left to earn a living. Even eight-year-old children were chanting ‘Patang Chap’,” Owaisi said, referring to his party’s election symbol. He criticised Tejashwi Yadav for being “out of touch” and warned that “the people of Seemanchal will make you sleep on the ground.”
Owaisi’s remarks come ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, where AIMIM has fielded 25 candidates, including Shams Aghaz in the Kishanganj constituency. The region has long suffered from poor infrastructure, low literacy, and high migration rates.
Earlier, Owaisi questioned the Mahagathbandhan for not naming a Muslim leader as the Deputy Chief Minister candidate, arguing that a Muslim should also have the opportunity to lead at the highest levels.
Polling in Kishanganj will take place on November 11 in the second phase of the Bihar elections, with results to be declared on November 14. The contest will see the NDA, led by the BJP and JD(U), face off against the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan.
