Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi on achieving Viksit Bharat without involving the country’s 14 percent Muslim population in nation building. He said improvement in education, employment and socio economic standards of Muslims remains essential for national progress.
Addressing the 68th Darussalam Day at the party headquarters, Owaisi described the BJP and the RSS as communal and sectarian groups. He alleged that their ideology runs against the foundations of the nation, which rest on inclusivity, pluralism and diversity. He stated that none from these groups took part in the freedom movement and recalled the sacrifices of Muslim leaders in India’s struggle for independence.
Owaisi said past sacrifices by MIM leaders helped the party expand across several states. He urged newly elected public representatives from Telangana, Maharashtra and Bihar to work with honesty and discipline. He asked them to answer public calls directly, listen to grievances and resolve issues without shifting responsibility to personal assistants.
MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said party founders struggled in the early years to build institutions. He noted that the party now supports multi specialty hospitals and higher education institutions. He said these belong to the Muslim community and not to the Owaisi family. He added that efforts continue to build a new generation of Muslim leaders.
Maharashtra MIM chief Imtiyaz Jaleel announced a membership drive through QR codes to enroll 10 lakh members in three months. Leaders and newly elected representatives from several states attended the event.
