Churu: A ‘Paigham-e-Musarrat’ gathering was organised at Mohalla Teliyan here. The event was initiated by Maulana Jamil Akhtar with recitation of Quranic verses. The city Imam, Pir Syed Mohammad Anwar Nadeemul Qadri, presided over the event. He urged everyone to conduct weddings according to the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, suggesting marriages be held in mosques with simple refreshments like dates and sherbet. The groom’s family should host a Walima (feast) after the wedding. He emphasised that Islam forbids dowry and discourages any burden on the bride’s family, urging people to avoid extravagant displays.
The presidency was held by Pir Syed Abrar Hussain Qadri, and Syed Gulam Mustafa Qadri served as the convener. Several religious scholars delivered speeches. Hafiz Naushad Alam Bikaneri recited Naats, which were greatly appreciated by the audience.
This gathering was organised by Haji Yaqub Hussain Chauhan on the occasion of his grandson Mohammad Shoaib’s wedding as an act of charity. The groom’s father, Mohammad Rafiq Chauhan, mentioned that such gatherings are common at weddings in their community.
Several local dignitaries, including councillors, lawyers, and community leaders, attended the event. After the gathering, a salutation was offered, and the city Imam prayed for peace and harmony. The event was moderated by Maulana Jamil Akhtar Bikaneri.
