Bantwal — A 26-year-old painter, Hamid alias Ammi, is in serious condition after four unidentified men attacked and stabbed him near the Akkarangadi bus stand in Panemangalore late Friday night, reported the Varta Bharati.
According to witnesses, the assailants struck without warning and fled before bystanders could intervene. Hamid suffered deep wounds to his arm and was rushed by locals to a private hospital in Mangaluru, where he remains under observation.
Bantwal police arrived swiftly, cordoned off the area, and launched a manhunt for the attackers. Investigators have yet to determine a motive and are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby shops. Officers have appealed to the public for any information that could aid the inquiry.
