19 Jul. 24: Despite enduring relentless airstrikes and widespread destruction in Gaza since October 2023, more than 1000 Palestinians have achieved a remarkable milestone by memorizing the Qur’an. Amid severe water shortages, sanitation issues, and the destruction of numerous mosques, Palestinian men, women, and children have shown extraordinary resilience in their pursuit of Quranic knowledge. They have gathered in makeshift shelters and tent mosques scattered across Gaza, where they continue to recite the sacred verses.
Highlighting their unwavering faith and determination, hundreds of memorizers (huffadh) came together on the day of Arafah to recite the Qur’an in a single session. This collective act of devotion not only demonstrates their deep spiritual commitment but also serves as a powerful symbol of unity and perseverance in the face of unimaginable challenges.
Additionally, amidst the rubble and devastation, Palestinians continue to offer their daily salah (prayers). Despite the hardships and disruptions, their steadfast commitment to their religious practices remains unshaken. These acts of worship amid adversity reflect the resilience and unwavering faith of the Palestinian people, highlighting their determination to maintain their spiritual routines even in the most challenging of circumstances.
