Pawan Khera Criticizes Bhagwat’s Remarks, Stresses Constitution Empowers All

New Delhi: Congress leader Pawan Khera has responded to recent comments made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, who stated that “Hindus being weak is a crime, it invites oppression.” Khera countered by emphasizing that the Indian Constitution empowers all citizens equally, without distinguishing between Hindus and Muslims, an IANS report said.

“The Constitution strengthens everyone. Mohan Bhagwat should also conclude his speeches by saying ‘Jai Samvidhan’ (Hail the Constitution),” Khera remarked during an interview with IANS.

On Bhagwat’s comments about foreign conspiracies allegedly stalling India’s progress, Khera remarked, “Yes, foreign involvement has been mentioned. But Prime Minister Modi needs to respond to this. Why are Japan, China, and even the RSS criticizing his foreign policy?”

Khera also addressed Bhagwat’s concerns regarding the mistreatment of Hindu minorities in Bengal, agreeing that such concerns should extend to all minorities. He further questioned why there was an issue when Owaisi raised the matter of Palestine in Parliament, calling for consistency in addressing minority issues.

Touching on the criticisms by Shiv Sena’s ‘Saamana’ editorial regarding atrocities on Dalits under BJP rule, Khera noted that tensions between the BJP and RSS are growing. “The RSS is finding it difficult to remain silent, as even their workers are demanding accountability regarding Dalit issues,” he added.

Khera also revealed that the Congress has lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission regarding issues with voting machines, stating that most problems seem to arise in areas where Congress candidates are trailing.

On reports of Chinese drones dropping drugs and weapons in Punjab, Khera urged the government to take responsibility, questioning the efficacy of the Border Security Force (BSF), which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
