– Shakilur Rahman

Lucknow, Jan. 5: Two people were arrested on Wednesday for social media posts that threatened to bomb Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and blow up the Ram temple in Ayodhya, officials said.

The statement said the duo had threatened Adityanath, STF chief Amitabh Yash and Ayodhya’s Ram temple in a post on ‘X’ using the handle ‘@iDevendraOffice’ in November.

According to a statement, a team of Uttar Pradesh’s Special Task Force arrested Tahar Singh and Omprakash Mishra from Vibhuti Khand area of Gomti Nagar in Lucknow.

The investigation initially revealed that the email ID ‘alamansarikhan608@gmail.com’ and  ‘zubairkhanisi199@gmail.com’ were used to send the threatening posts.

After technical analysis of the email IDs, it was found that Tahar Singh created email accounts and Omprakash Mishra sent threatening messages.

The statement said both Singh and Mishra are residents of Gonda and work in a paramedical institute. It said that STF is investigating the matter further.

According to Satya Hindi, well-known journalist and co-founder of the fact-checking website AltNews, Zubair Ahmed, has verified the people arrested by the UPSTF.

He has given detailed information about this in several tweets on social media. Some of his tweets may be helpful in understanding the matter. It is said that a threatening letter has also been sent in Urdu.

This is not the first case when Hindu persons have tried to incite communal tension by exploiting Muslim-looking names. In the recent past, many such cases made headlines. The police should be praised for uncovering the conspiracy in time and arresting the conspirators.
