Police remove posters asking Hindus not to rent or sell houses to Muslims in Jaipur

– Raheem Khan

Jaipur, March 1: Police have removed posters that asked Hindus not to rent or sell houses to Muslims in the city’s Nandpuri colony.
The posters, which were put up about 10 days ago, appealed to Hindus to “unite and fight against Muslim jihad.”
Local ward councilor Anita Jain said the posters were put up after a Hindu resident sold his property to a Muslim family.
“The posters were removed immediately after they came to our notice,” Jain said.
Brahmapuri SHO Ishwar Chandra Pareek said no case was registered in the matter.
“We spoke to the residents who had put up the posters and they agreed to remove them,” Pareek said.
The incident comes at a time when communal tensions have been rising in India.
In recent months, there have been several cases of hate crimes against Muslims, including mob lynchings and cow vigilantism.
The Indian government has been criticized for its failure to crack down on these crimes.
