Political violence between two TMC groups causes tension in Murshidabad, heavy police force deployed

Kolkata, Dec. 21: Murshidabad, a district with huge population of Muslims, has always been a victim of political tension. It’s the most backward district of the state; instead of development work, people here are always suffering from political tension. Once again, political tension is being seen here. A heavy police force has been deployed in the area due to the clash between two groups of Trinamool Congress in Jalangi of Murshidabad.

Trinamool Congress factional conflict has been going on in Jalangi for a long time. Sometimes it comes out in the open. A massive political clash between the two groups was seen in Sarkar Para village of Choapara area of ​​Jalangi.

According to the sources, a group of Trinamool MLA Abdul Razzak and a group of TMC youth leader Rakibul Islam suddenly clashed. The whole area turned violent in an instant. Initially, the two groups exchanged heated words; after sometime the grumbling escalated. They started throwing bricks at each other. Three followers of the MLA are also reported to have been injured.

On having received the information, a large police force from Jalangi police station visited the area. They tried to defuse the situation.

Sadiq Khan, a local resident, said, “There has been trouble between them for a long time. Whatever is happening in the area, the people of the MLA’s group are being blamed. On the other hand, Rakibul’s people are openly walking around with guns.

Murshidabad resident Shahjahan Alam said victims of political violence between two groups are common people. We live our days in the shadow of fear and terror. We want peace and urge the government to control these situations and keep an eye on these people.
