Prince Turki Al Faisal Condemns Trump’s Double Standards on Israel and Iran

Riyadh – Prince Turki Al Faisal, former Saudi intelligence chief and ambassador to the United States and United Kingdom, has issued a strong critique of US President Donald Trump’s recent military strikes on Iran, accusing him of following a policy of blatant double standards in the Middle East, reported the National News.
In a sharply worded statement, Prince Turki questioned why Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal remains untouched, while Iran is bombed for alleged nuclear ambitions. He highlighted that Israel has not signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and its nuclear facilities have never been subjected to international inspections. In contrast, Iran, despite its controversial past, has faced intense global scrutiny.
“If justice and fairness were truly guiding global decisions, American B2 bombers would have targeted Dimona, not Natanz,” the prince said, referencing Israel’s well-known but officially undeclared nuclear site.
Prince Turki criticized the West’s consistent support for Israel’s military aggression, especially its ongoing occupation of Palestinian land, while simultaneously sanctioning Russia over Ukraine. He remarked that this selective application of international law has severely damaged the credibility of the so-called “rules-based order.”
“Western leaders continue to preach values they fail to practice,” he said, while noting that ordinary citizens in the West have increasingly shown solidarity with the Palestinian cause. “The people’s growing support for justice is a hopeful sign—even if their leaders are lagging behind.”
Referring to Trump’s recent approval of strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, Prince Turki warned that such actions could lead the region into another prolonged and destabilizing conflict. He reminded the world of the disastrous consequences of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
He called on President Trump to return to diplomacy and listen to America’s allies in the Gulf, particularly those like Saudi Arabia who advocate for peace, not war. “He should not follow the path of other Western leaders who bend to Israeli pressure,” Prince Turki advised.
In a symbolic protest echoing his late father King Faisal’s refusal to visit the US after the American endorsement of Israel’s creation, Prince Turki declared that he too would not visit the United States until President Trump leaves office.
Prince Turki’s statement reflects growing frustration in the Arab world with what is widely seen as the West’s biased approach to Middle Eastern conflicts—especially regarding Israel and Iran—and comes at a time of heightened tensions in the region.
