Priyank Kharge Slams BJP Over ‘Minority Favouritism’ Allegations

Bengaluru: Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge criticized BJP for accusing Congress of minority favoritism in the state budget, calling it an attempt to create religious divisions.
Responding to BJP Minority Morcha President Jamal Siddiqui, Kharge pointed out BJP’s own community-specific initiatives, citing the distribution of “Saughat-e-Modi” kits to 32 lakh Muslim families during Ramadan.
BJP recently called Karnataka’s 2025 budget a “Halal Budget,” accusing Congress of appeasement. Kharge countered that BJP’s minority outreach is seen as “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” while Congress is unfairly criticized.
Taking a dig at PM Modi, Kharge mentioned Modi’s chadar offering at Ajmer Sharif, photos with Muslim leaders, and his 2015 Pakistan visit, which reportedly cost Rs 2.86 lakh.
He reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” and accused BJP of selective minority outreach for political gains.
