Pro-Palestinian protesters denounce Biden war policy in Washington

Nov. 6, 2023
Thousands of protesters in Washington gathered to demand a ceasefire in Gaza and to denounce President Joe Biden’s policy towards the conflict. They carried placards with slogans such as “Palestinian Lives Matter,” “Let Gaza Live,” and “Their blood is on your hands.” They also unfurled a giant sheet of paper displaying the names of thousands of Palestinians killed by Israel during the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The demonstrators called for a ceasefire, with Mahdi Bray, the national director of the American Muslim Alliance, stating, “What we want and what we demand is a ceasefire now.”

The protest was organized by the coalition group ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) under the title “National March on Washington: Free Palestine.”

It was one of the largest pro-Palestinian gatherings in the United States and one of the biggest demonstrations in Washington in recent years.

The protesters criticized the ongoing conflict, with chants like “Biden, Biden you cannot hide, you signed up for genocide.” They voiced concerns about the civilian casualties in Gaza and called for international action to address the humanitarian conditions in the region.
