Aligarh: Prof Sami Rafiq, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University has been honoured with a Visiting Professorship at the Chanakya National Law University, Patna.
As a Visiting Professor, she will deliver lectures on various aspects of research in literature and will provide guidance to PhD and LL.D. candidates as their Co-supervisor. Presently in Patna, she is delivering lectures on Climate Change and its relationship to Literature.
Prof Rafiq has extensive work on climate change as portrayed in literature and she has also recently been engaged by the Ministry of Education, Government of India to deliver lectures on “Climate Change and Literature” for undergraduate and postgraduate students who have enrolled for SWAYAM programme.
Introducing the nature of this course, she informed that the course will help learners to understand climate change and its connection to literature. It would also acquaint the learners with knowledge of climate fiction and climate poetry with an interdisciplinary approach. Available on Youtube and SWAYAM, any undergraduate or postgraduate student can join this interdisciplinary course.
Prof Sami Rafiq has recently published a collection of her poems, “Songs of Aligarh,” her second collection after “Woman in the Trees,” which carries her poems on environment and culture and describes her love for nature and animals and her association with Aligarh and AMU.
Professor Sami Rafiq also teaches a paper on Climate Change and Literature.
