Retired AMU professor Suhail Sabir, who has also served as Pro Vice Chancellor at University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) during 2019-20, has handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to AMU Finance Officer Prof. Mohd Mohsin Khan for the establishment of an Endowment called Professor Suhail Sabir Endowment Fund to award around 40 scholarships to the needy and deserving students of AMU every year.
Professor Sabir told Radiance, “I always thought to repay the debt we owe to our Alma Mater. I had decided much earlier that I will somehow help the students of AMU to the best of my capacity and that moment came when I retired last year after serving this great institution for almost 40 years. At the end of it whatever I received from the University as my savings I decided to invest it for this noble cause. I thank University Administration for the approval of my proposal in this regard. Alhamdulillah, I could do it and May Allah accept this humble contribution.”
