Prominent Indian Muslim Bodies Slam Israeli Attack on Iran, Call It ‘State Terrorism’ and International Law Violation

Leading Muslim organizations across India have issued powerful statements denouncing Israel’s recent military strikes on Iran, labeling the attacks as unjustified acts of aggression and grave violations of international law. The organizations called on global powers and the United Nations to urgently intervene before the escalating conflict spirals into a full-blown regional war.
Maulana Arshad Madani, President of the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (Arshad faction), criticized the Israeli assaults on Iran’s nuclear facilities and civilian zones. Terming the actions as a blatant breach of the United Nations Charter, he remarked, “With overt backing from the United States, Israel is executing a dangerous agenda that could engulf the entire region in war.” He also warned that Muslim nations seeking independence or defensive capability are being systematically targeted. “While the U.S. endorses Israel’s genocide in Gaza, it simultaneously enables its aggression against Iran,” Madani asserted. He urged Muslim countries and justice-seeking societies globally to unite and confront this deepening crisis.
Syed Sadatullah Husaini, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), issued a strong statement labeling Israel’s air raids as a “direct attack on Iran’s sovereignty.” He condemned the targeting of sensitive nuclear infrastructure and residential areas, calling it “state-sponsored terrorism.” Husaini noted that reports suggest senior Iranian scientists and military officials were killed during the assault. “Such reckless provocation could easily spark a catastrophic regional or even global war,” he warned, criticizing the silence and passive complicity of global powers.
Husaini also dismissed Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s justification regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions, highlighting Iran’s consistent claims of peaceful nuclear development under international scrutiny. “A regime accused of war crimes and genocide has no moral authority to accuse others. It is up to the IAEA, not Israel, to make such determinations,” he said. Husaini urged the UN to intervene immediately and impose sanctions on Israel to prevent a descent into global lawlessness.
Ziauddin Siddiqui, Ameer of Wahdat-e-Islami Hind, echoed similar sentiments, accusing Israel of normalizing the massacre of civilians. He called the attacks a “direct violation of Iran’s territorial sovereignty” and emphasized Iran’s right to self-defense. “Iran has signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and allows IAEA inspections, whereas Israel has never signed the treaty nor permitted inspections. It’s clear who truly possesses illegal weapons of mass destruction,” Siddiqui stated. He called upon international institutions to take immediate steps toward the disarmament of Israel.
Siddiqui also expressed deep concern about the continued civilian deaths across Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, and now Iran. “Israel’s unchecked aggression, backed by powerful Western nations, poses a serious threat to world peace,” he stated. He condemned the double standards of the U.S. and European powers who support Israel despite credible allegations of genocide and human rights violations.
Calling these airstrikes “crimes against humanity,” Siddiqui demanded meaningful international action to prevent further deterioration. He also appealed to the Government of India to safeguard the lives of Indian citizens and students residing in both Iran and Israel. “New Delhi must act diplomatically and work towards de-escalation,” he urged.
Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, the Grand Mufti of India, expressed grave concern over the rapidly intensifying conflict in West Asia. He described the violence as both tragic and dangerous for global peace. “Israel’s continuous violation of neighboring countries’ sovereignty is not just provocative—it’s a direct challenge to international norms and human values,” he said. The Grand Mufti warned that such reckless actions by the Netanyahu-led regime threaten the stability of the modern world.
These statements from some of India’s most prominent Muslim organizations reflect a growing sense of alarm within Indian civil society over Israel’s belligerent policies and their far-reaching consequences—not just for West Asia, but for global peace and justice.
