Bengaluru: ‘Whenever I go through the teachings of the Holy Prophet, my eyes become moist. He was an icon of patience the world needs to replicate today,’ said a renowned writer and poet Yogesh Master while addressing a Seerat Programme here. The Prophet changed the entire society in a short span of time. The time has come to publicize the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ before the world, he added.
With his poetic tribute to the Prophet in Kannada, Yogesh Master stunned the audience as he covered almost all the aspects of the Prophet’s life and mission in his poem.
Shri Ravi Shankar Shetty, President Mahatma Gandhi Souharda Vedike said good morals are mentioned in every religion, there is a need to raise voice against casteism as was done during the Prophet’s time successfully. He admitted that for the first time he had the opportunity to read a little about Muhammad, ‘I will try to read it in the future,’ he said.
Akbar Ali, Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Karnataka, said today the world, especially our country, is suffering from moral degradation. Safety and honour of women is at high stake. Corrupt mindset and practices have dipped the country at a low ebb. In a similar situation in Arabia, Prophet Muhammad purified the society through his noble character and teachings, said Akbar Ali.
The Prophet taught man belief in God and accountability before Him. These teachings are more relevant today, he added. Referring to various incidents of attacks on women in the country, Akbar Ali called for a vigilant and God-conscious social order.
Dr. Masood Shariff, vice president of JIH local unit, gave the inaugural talk. Speaking about the relevance of Prophet’s teachings today, he explained as 2 plus 2 were 4 before 1400 years as they hold good today and even in the years to come so also noble teachings remain relevant during all times.
A book on the noble characters of Prophet Muhammad in the Kannada language was released on the occasion.
