Qatari Journalist Praises Hamas for Defending Muslim Sanctities

DOHA: The Editor-in-Chief of Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq has lauded Hamas for its steadfastness in the face of ongoing internal and external challenges.
In an article published recently, journalist Jaber Al-Harmi asserted that Hamas is resisting an enemy that “steals land, violates sanctities, and commits crimes.” He emphasized that the movement is not only defending Palestine but also safeguarding the sanctities of two billion Muslims worldwide.
Al-Harmi highlighted Hamas’ ability to manage essential sectors such as education, health, culture, economy, and security in Gaza, despite continuous Israeli aggression. He also noted that Hamas manufactures its own weapons to counter the Zionist regime, which benefits from extensive military and political support from global powers.
Praising Hamas’ resilience, he pointed out that its leadership, including figures like Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Ismail Haniyeh, and Yahya Sinwar, has made immense sacrifices for their homeland. He stressed that while Hamas is not infallible, any criticism must be objective.
In a concluding remark, Al-Harmi sarcastically noted, “By the way, Hamas is a besieged movement, not an influential state.”
