Sawai Madhopur – On May 22, 2025, a protest was held at Ambedkar Circle in Sawai Madhopur under the banner of the Joint Action Committee. The protest was in response to the All India Muslim Personal Law Board’s call to oppose the Waqf Amendment Law 2025.
The protest was led by Qazi Nisarullah, Convener of the Joint Action Committee. Participants included retired RAS officer Hafiz Abrar Ahmad, Gaddi Samaj president Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad, Jama Masjid Imam Maulana Jameeluddin Nadvi, Karmoda Madrasa coordinator Maulana Nauman Qasmi, Panchayat Samiti head Nirma Meena, CPI(M) leader Ramgopal Gunsaria, Block Congress Committee president Giriraj Singh Gurjar, former Meena Samaj Seva Sansthan president Ghanshyam Meena, Adivasi Vikas Parishad president Bhawani Singh Ghudasi, former Enda sarpanch Mukesh Meena, Dr. Akram Khan, Zafar Ahmad Amin, and several others from Muslim, political, and social bodies.
All speakers said the Waqf Amendment Law 2025 violates the Constitution and minority rights. They declared the law an attack on Muslim religious and cultural freedoms. Protesters jointly demanded the government immediately and unconditionally repeal the “black law.”
