New Delhi, September 6: The news portal of Radiance, radiancenews.com was launched by Syed Sadatullah Husaini, President Jamaat-e-Islami Hind at its headquarters here today. Radiance has been in regular publication since 1963.
The weekly published by The Board of Islamic Publications (BIP) focuses on the issues related with Muslims and Islam in India. It practices truism and ethical journalism and represents Islam and Muslims in India, bridging the gap between Muslims and other communities. It has completed six decades of responsible journalism. Today’s soft-launching of Radiance news portal was the part of commemoration of the completion of 60 years of Radiance Viewsweekly. The formal launching programme will be held at India International Centre on October 22. Former Vice President Hamid Ansari will be the Chief Guest.
Earlier, while introducing the portal, Syed Tanveer Ahmed, Secretary of BIP, which publishes Radiance, said, “The news portal will try to tell the Muslim side of the story and focus on issues pertaining to Muslims and Islam. The portal, he informed the audience, has some distinctive features. Under the column Pride of the Nation, achievements of Muslim individuals and institutions will be highlighted. In Voices of Young India column, voices of youth on important burning issues will be published. Other columns include Interfaith Harmony, Entrepreneurs Network, Art and Culture, etc. In the film review category, two film reviews have been published.
T. Arif Ali, JIH Secretary General, Prof Salim Engineer, President of BIP, S. Ameenul Hasan, JIH Vice President, Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries of various departments of Jamaat, BIP members like Messrs Intizar Naim, A.U. Asif, and Javed Ali were present on the occasion.
