Adil Ray Speaks Out on Death Threats and Rising Islamophobia in the UK

London: British television presenter Adil Ray has revealed that he has received death threats and racist abuse amid a sharp rise in Islamophobic incidents across the United Kingdom. The 51-year-old presenter, who co-hosts ITV’s “Good Morning Britain,” linked the hostility to growing anger over asylum seekers and immigration.

Ray said he has been targeted with abusive messages online, including threats of violence. “I’ve had people DM me on Instagram, talk about remigration. I’ve had threats to watch myself on the streets,” he told viewers. He added that this surge in hate has left many Muslims afraid to practice their faith openly.

He highlighted that Muslim politicians have also received violent threats. Several members of the public, he said, shared that they no longer feel safe attending mosques. “People who work here, and several friends of theirs who are Muslim, don’t want to go to the mosque anymore,” Ray noted.

His comments come at a time when reports of anti-Muslim hate crimes are rising. Several mosques across the UK have been vandalized in recent weeks, raising alarm within the community.

Ray criticized the lack of political response to the issue. “No one seems to be talking about it. These are anti-Muslim hate crimes,” he said. “There doesn’t seem to be any politician standing up and reassuring millions of Muslims in this country that the country is behind them.”

He warned that political silence in the face of growing Islamophobia is deeply troubling.
