Nagpur: A program titled “Rahmatullah al-Alameen” was organized at Darussalam Auditorium Hall in Jhingabai Takli, where speakers highlighted the universal message of equality and justice in Islam. Professor Muhammad Javed Sheikh, chairing the session, said Islam rejects discrimination between high and low, affirming that all humans are equal. He pointed to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who urged people to deal fairly, avoid dishonesty, respect neighbors, serve parents, and uphold family ties.
Professor Sheikh added that Islam stresses compassion toward wives and children, condemns unlawful financial practices, and secures inheritance rights for women. He also reminded the audience of the Prophet’s guidance on household responsibilities and social justice.
Dr. Suresh Khairnar addressed the gathering and drew attention to ongoing atrocities in Gaza. He criticized the silence of Arab countries and recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s remarks on Palestine in 1930. Dr. Narendra Jichkar underlined the Prophet’s political teachings, emphasizing his famous declaration that even his daughter Fatima would face the same justice as any ordinary person. He contrasted this principle with present-day politics, which he described as plagued by corruption.
Other speakers included Advocate Dr. Vipin Mendhe, who stressed the Prophet’s emphasis on education, and Professor Varse, who called for dedicated service to humanity. The program featured a Quran recitation by Saba Khan and a Marathi Naat by Adesh Raja. Intekhab Alam, president of JIH Nagpur North West, conveyed thanks, while Professor Shamim Khan moderated the session.
