Hyderabad: The Siasat Hub Foundation (S-Hub) has announced plans to launch India’s first dedicated media incubator in Hyderabad. The initiative is aimed at empowering young people in journalism, content creation, and digital media by combining Siasat’s legacy with modern industry opportunities.
The project will unfold in two phases. In the first phase, the Foundation will establish the Siasat Media Academy. The Academy will provide short-term professional courses in digital journalism, podcasting, video production, public relations, design, and freelancing. Training will be hands-on, conducted in collaboration with media houses, OTT platforms, YouTube creators, and PR firms. Students will benefit from Siasat’s media network, gain certifications, internships, and expert guidance, and be equipped to start freelance careers, YouTube channels, or podcasts.
Within six to twelve months, the second phase will commence with the launch of a full-fledged Media Incubation Centre. This centre will support top-performing students and startups by providing co-working spaces, professional studios, business mentorship, seed funding through CSR initiatives, and media development grants. It will also act as a launchpad for projects such as hyperlocal YouTube channels, minority voice podcasts, journalism startups, animation ventures, and digital marketing agencies.
As part of the groundwork, Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of The Siasat Daily, is engaging with leading journalism institutions across India. In Chennai, he met Sasi Kumar, Chairman of the Asian College of Journalism, and A. S. Paneerselvam, Director General of the Chennai Institute of Journalism, to explore collaborations.
Amer Ali Khan said the initiative will prepare youth with essential skills and support them in building sustainable media ventures.
