New Delhi, March 12: “The officials of Railway Board of India are unable to understand the definition of ‘AYUSH’ due to which the Railway Board issued a wrong circular on 18 December 2023. The term ‘AYUSH’ includes Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Siddha and Homeopathy along with Unani. But the Railway Board issued circulars only for Ayurveda, Siddha and Homeopathy,” Dr. Faraz Uloom said.

In the meeting of All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC), he briefed “We will file a PIL for this in the Allahabad High Court.” He further said that due to the negligence of Railway Board, Unani doctors were losing their jobs in railway hospitals and railway employees were unable to benefit from Unani method of treatment. Dr. Faraz Uloom, national legal adviser of AIUTC, was presiding over the meeting.

Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, general secretary of AIUTC, said, “We have drawn the attention of the Railway Board in this regard, but no solution has come out yet. So we have no option other than to file a PIL in the court.”
