Rajasthan: Infant Crushed to Death During Police Raid in Alwar, Sparks Outrage

Alwar: A one-month-old infant, Alisba, was allegedly crushed under a police officer’s boot during a raid in Raghunathgarh village, Alwar. The incident occurred on Sunday morning when police stormed into the house of Imran Khan, a daily-wage laborer, without prior notice.

Head constables Girdhari and Jagveer, along with constables Sunil, Rishi, and Shahid, led the raid as part of a cybercrime investigation. However, no case was registered against Imran. His wife, Razida Khan, alleged that officers forcibly dragged them out, and in the process, one of them stepped on their sleeping daughter, killing her instantly.
The shocking incident triggered protests, with villagers demanding justice. ASP Tejpal Singh confirmed an FIR against unnamed police officials, but no arrests have been made. Alwar SP Sanjeev Nain transferred the accused officers to police lines, further fueling public outrage.
CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat visited the grieving family, condemning the act as police brutality. The party accused the BJP-led state government of fostering anti-Muslim sentiment, making marginalized families more vulnerable. CPI(M) demanded the immediate arrest of the officers, the station in-charge’s suspension, compensation for the family, and strict action against police brutality.
