JIH Rajasthan Alleges Voter List Tampering in Rajasthan’s SIR Process, Demands Probe

Jaipur – Submitting false information during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to remove voters’ names and pressuring Booth Level Officers (BLOs) constitute serious crimes warranting investigation, according to Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan.

Reports from various parts of the state indicate irregularities in the ongoing SIR process. Individuals are allegedly filing objections through Form 7 with false and misleading information, leading to the removal of legitimate voters’ names from the electoral rolls under pressure on BLOs.

State President Muhammad Nazimuddin described these developments as “extremely alarming.” He claimed the misuse targets the Muslim community in particular, creating an atmosphere of fear, insecurity, and confusion among ordinary citizens.

“Voting is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Indian Constitution. Any attempt to snatch it through conspiracy is a direct assault on democratic values and weakens democracy,” Nazimuddin stated.

He demanded a fair, transparent, and time-bound investigation to identify the gangs or elements orchestrating these false objections. “Strict legal action must be taken against the guilty to deter future interference with the democratic process,” he added.

Nazimuddin urged all district and tehsil election officers to ensure no voter’s name is deleted based on false or unverified complaints. He called for clear guidelines and accountability for BLOs to prevent violations of innocent citizens’ rights.

He also objected to pressures on BLOs to alter accurate information and remove valid voters, demanding immediate suspension and legal action against any administrative officer involved.

The organization expects the Election Commission and state administration to handle this grave issue with sensitivity, impartiality, and constitutional responsibility.

Additionally, Nazimuddin appealed to citizens to act responsibly by contacting local BLOs and officials to verify that voter names remain correctly listed and are not illegally removed.
