Muslim Bodies Urge Transparent Probe into Red Fort Blast, Condemn Violence

New Delhi: Prominent Muslim organisations have expressed deep concern over the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed nine people on Monday. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) have called for a comprehensive, impartial investigation into the incident and extended condolences to the victims’ families.

AIMPLB president Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani said the explosion, if confirmed as an act of terrorism, raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of national security mechanisms. He described the deaths as a tragic loss and urged authorities to uncover the cause without delay. “If it was an act of terrorism, it is deeply alarming and raises serious questions about the country’s security apparatus, since even sensitive areas of the national capital are not safe,” Rahmani stated. The Board also expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of the injured.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind president Syed Sadatullah Husaini condemned the blast and called for immediate accountability for any security lapses. He demanded swift justice for the victims and warned against the politicisation of the tragedy. “Terrorism cannot be an expression of any religion, it is its betrayal,” he said. “Every violent act, under any banner, deserves the same condemnation. Let people of all beliefs unite to reject hate and uproot the causes of terror.”

Both organisations emphasised unity, transparency, and justice, urging the government to ensure the protection of all citizens and uphold peace and pluralism.
