Deoband: The Islah-e-Muashirah Conference and the general assembly of Rabita Madaris Islamia were held at Darul Uloom Imdadiya, Garhi Yamunanagar. The Rector and Sheikh-ul-Hadith of Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Mufti Abul-Qasim Nomani, addressed the heads and representatives of Islamic seminaries from Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh.
He emphasised that societal reform is essential because the survival and existence of Muslims depend on it. As long as Islamic teachings and commandments are not implemented in our personal lives, the reformation of society won’t be possible. The process of reform begins with oneself; only then will its effects spread to others.
Addressing the heads and representatives of Islamic seminaries, Mufti Nomani said the role of seminaries is not limited to gathering students and completing the curriculum. It is also their responsibility to promote virtuous values in society and prevent social evils. Seminaries must take these issues into consideration and actively work on them as part of their duties.
Before the general assembly, the executive council of Rabita Madaris Northern Haryana and Himachal Pradesh convened, with 21 members and special invitees. They finalised decisions on the collective examination of 1446AH in early Sha’ban, the division of centres, and appointment of supervisors. The conference and assembly passed 10 resolutions on social reform, seminary protection, and curbing deviant sects, read by Deputy Secretary Hafiz Matloob Hasan.
The conference, presided over by Maulana Ali Hasan Mazahiri, was conducted by General Secretary Maulana Abdullah Khalid Qasmi Khairabadi. Maulana Abdullah Khalid Qasmi also presented a welcome address and the annual report. The event concluded with Maulana Mazahiri expressing gratitude to guests and representatives, followed by Mufti Abul-Qasim Nomani’s concluding supplication.
