Republic Day Celebrations: AMU school students speak on space explorations in a debate competition

Aligarh: Inaya Firdaus from Aligarh Muslim University Girls’ School secured the first position in an English language debate competition organised by Syedna Taher Saifuddin (STS) School as part of the Republic Day celebrations, while Haziq Alam from STS School won the second prize.

Mohammad Roohan (STS School), Aqsa Athar (AMU Girls School) and Maryam Khan (AMU ABK High School-Girls) shared the third prize in the competition held on “Space Exploration is Worth the Investment.”

The competition was adjudicated by a panel of judges comprising Dr. Muhammad Asif and Dr. Md. Saquib Abrar, Department of English.

While congratulating the winners, the School Principal, Mr. Faisal Nafis said that the debate competition aimed to highlight the importance of exploring global issues and encouraging students to think critically about the world beyond our planet.

He said that the participants presented their arguments with clarity, depth and conviction, and the event reflected their intellectual curiosity and oratory skills.

The winners and participants were given medals and certificates. Mrs. Ghazala Tanvir conducted the programme.
