Return of Ballot Papers Draws Support from Welfare Party Leader

Bengaluru: Welfare Party of India state president and advocate Tahir Hussain has welcomed the decision to reintroduce ballot papers in the upcoming local body elections, calling the move a step toward stronger public trust in the voting process.

Hussain said free, fair and transparent elections form the base of democratic life. He said the voting system must inspire confidence among citizens. In recent years, he said, debates over the reliability of Electronic Voting Machines have raised public concern across the country.

He said the return of ballot papers offers reassurance to voters. He said the paper system allows open observation at each stage, from voting to counting and declaration of results. He said public visibility stands at the core of democratic practice.

Hussain pointed to practical advantages of ballot papers. He said the method reduces fears linked to technical failure or software error. He said the process remains simple and easy to understand for voters from all sections of society. He said this feature holds special value in rural and semi urban areas where access to technology remains uneven.

He said the paper system leaves little room for suspicion. He said candidates, officials and observers are able to watch each step of the process. He said this level of scrutiny builds trust in outcomes.

Hussain urged the State Election Commission and the government to ensure wide and effective use of ballot papers in local polls. He called for proper training of election staff and public awareness drives to ensure smooth conduct.

He said the people’s vote holds sanctity and every step to protect it deserves support. He said the party will back all efforts to uphold democratic values and respect the will of voters.
