Lucknow: The Rashtriya Hindu Raksha Parishad held a march in Lucknow against the planned Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, West Bengal. The march began at KD Singh Babu Stadium and moved toward the GPO roundabout. Leaders carried saffron flags, the Tricolor, and tridents. Mukesh Dubey and Mahamandaleshwar Baba Mahadev led the event.
Throughout the protest, speakers made statements that targeted Muslims and reinforced open Islamophobia. Leaders rejected any mosque linked to the name Babri or Babur. They singled out individuals involved with the project by referring to their Muslim identity. They accused political groups of supporting the construction and demanded that the central government revoke the membership of a Trinamool Congress leader associated with the project. They also said they plan to march to Bengal.
Dubey claimed Hinduism faces continuous insults. He demanded action on social media remarks related to customs and festivals. He asked authorities to use the National Security Act against those making such comments. He also called for strict measures against caste-based remarks.
The Parishad placed several demands before the state government. These included renaming Lucknow to Lakhanpur and banning food items that use names of gods or goddesses. Leaders described the West Bengal mosque project as unacceptable. They used sweeping claims against Muslim communities while calling for a halt to the construction in Murshidabad.
Baba Mahadev attacked a person linked to the project by using his name to question his intentions. He said the group will continue to pressure authorities to stop the Babri Masjid project.
