Jaipur, Feb. 1: Rajasthan Muslim Forum (RMF), a joint organization of Rajasthan’s social, religious, and political organizations of Muslims, organized a meeting at Muslim Musafirkhana here to discuss the controversy over Hijab that emerged at Gangapol School. Officials and religious leaders of many Muslim organizations attended the meeting.
Naeem Rabbani, an RMF member, said a message is being spread on WhatsApp, inviting people to gather at Subhash Chowk on Thursday. No organization name is written on this message. RMF has appealed to Muslims not to pay attention to misleading messages and rumors being spread on social media. He said an attempt is being made to spoil the atmosphere unnecessarily in the name of Hijab. Students in government schools have always gone to school in the prescribed uniform, there has never been any such controversy over Hijab. The viral message regarding the protest on Thursday could also be the work of mischievous elements to spoil the atmosphere.
He also said about the misleading news circulating in the media that there is no mosque, tomb, or dargah in Gangapol School and no religious activity of any kind is held there.
RMF said responsible persons of the city are taking necessary action according to the law in this matter. “Whatever is decided will be informed to everyone,” it said.
RMF further said, “We have to make every effort to achieve the rights given in the Constitution while protecting our culture and faith in any case. Also, we should not allow the atmosphere to deteriorate.”
RMF has also appealed to Muslims to remain calm and focus on their studies and work.
