New Delhi: A Roza-Kushai (Iftar gathering) was organised at the residence of veteran journalist Jalaluddin Aslam, President of the Mahfoozur Rahman Memorial Committee, located in Joshi Colony here. On this occasion, noted Urdu journalist, former Vice Chairman of the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), and member of the Advisory Committee of Sahitya Akademi, Mr. Chanderbhan Khayal, attended as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Chanderbhan Khayal said that Roza-Kushai is not only an act of obedience to God’s command but also an excellent means of fostering harmony and goodwill among people. Recalling his time working at the New Delhi-based daily Qaumi Awaz, he said it was a golden era when discussions were not centred on Hindu–Muslim differences, but rather on promoting humanity, fulfilling professional responsibilities, and wishing well for one another.
He further stated that we should learn from the past and work for the welfare of the country and the community. According to him, this can only be achieved when individuals set aside personal interests and step forward for the greater national good.
On the occasion, noted journalist Suhail Anjum and Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan also shared their views. Veteran journalist Jalaluddin Aslam concluded the programme by expressing gratitude to all the participants.
