Jabalpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has urged the government to implement a population policy without delay, warning that “demographic imbalance” threatens India’s security and social stability. Speaking at the RSS’s all-India executive meeting in Jabalpur, Hosabale said the policy must address issues of infiltration, religious conversion, and unequal community growth rates.
Hosabale stated that the sooner such a policy is enacted, the more beneficial it would be. He argued that infiltration and conversion were disturbing the country’s demographic structure and must be curbed through both legal and social measures. The RSS leader claimed that conversions in the name of service were a concern and said that organisations like Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram and Vishva Hindu Parishad were already working to counter them.
He also called for regulation of live-in relationships, suggesting legislation and greater “social awareness” to uphold traditional family structures.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day address, Hosabale supported the government’s plan for a “High-Power Demography Mission” aimed at addressing population changes, especially in border regions. He warned that demographic shifts could create “a crisis for national security” and disrupt the country’s unity and progress.
Hosabale also criticised the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal, accusing it of failing to stop illegal migration from Bangladesh and of creating instability in the state.
