Jalna: Concerned over the escalating communal tensions in Nagpur and Maharashtra, Sadbhavana Manch, Jalna, has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis through the District Collector, demanding urgent government intervention to curb violence and restore peace.
The memorandum calls for strict action against those inciting communal discord and urges authorities to ensure religious harmony. Other key demands include – Legal action against individuals spreading communal hatred and violence, immediate action against incidents disrespecting Islamic symbols, ensuring impartiality and transparency in law enforcement, preventing the misuse of history to fuel sectarian conflicts, and protecting all communities and implementing long-term measures for peace.
The Sadbhavana Manch delegation stressed that Maharashtra has a legacy of religious unity, which is now under threat. They cautioned that unchecked hate speech and violent activities could derail the state’s progress. With Ramadan approaching, they urged citizens to remain calm and not react to provocation, calling on authorities to act decisively against hate-mongers.
